2019 Lamborghini Super Trofeo Driver Lineup Announced – Four-Car Program Looks to Continue Team Legacy

Coming off a successful, but chilly, two-day test at Barber Motorsports Park, Wayne Taylor Racing (WTR) and Prestige Performance Racing announced their driver line up for the 2019 Lamborghini Super Trofeo (LST) North American Championship season. Four cars will compete in the 6-race North American Series which kicks off April 7th at the fan-favorite Birmingham raceway and finishes up at the 2019 World Final weekend in Cádiz, Spain, October 26-27th.

Andrea Amici and Sandy Mitchell will co-pilot the No. 1 Prestige Performance WTR Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo (PRO). WTR’s No. 43 entry in the LB Cup will see the female pairing of Stephanie Cemo and Ashton Harrison while Cameron Cassels will return in the #33 ST Huracán to race as a single driver in the AM-Class Championship. In the PRO|AM Class, William Hubbell will once again commandeer the No. 69 Prestige Performance Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo with new teammate Eric Curran, who will run as many race events that do not conflict with his full-time commitment to the No. 31 Whelen Engineering DPi race team running in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.

“Wayne Taylor Racing is proud of our North American Super Trofeo Series driver line-up,” said Travis Houge, General Manager, Wayne Taylor Racing of the 2019 season. “We have high expectations of them and our team and are excited to see them take to the track in early April. If our test this week was any indication, they are focused and ready to go for the win. We are looking forward to another great season.”
Since its inception in 2015, the Prestige Performance with Wayne Taylor Racing effort has clinched seven North American PRO-Driver, Team and Dealer Championship titles as well as has been crowned the overall 2017 Lamborghini Champions at the World Finals in Imola, Italy. In 2018, the team finished the season in the Top Three in the PRO and AM classes as well as the PRO-AM Class. Prestige Performance-Paramus finished third overall in the 2018 Dealer Championship chase.

“The partnership and legacy that Prestige Performance and Wayne Taylor Racing have built in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America Series is second to none,” said Chris Turner, President, Prestige Performance Racing. “We set out to build a winning platform that would both attract and inspire professional and amateur drivers as well as customers from around the world. We have done it successfully season after season.”

After the season opener at Barber Motorsports Park (April 5-7), the 6-race North American series continues with races at Watkins Glen (June 27-30), Road America (August 2-4), Virginia International Raceway (August 17-19), and Laguna Seca (September 7-9). The final race of the series being held during The World Finals scheduled at the Circuito de Jerez in Cádiz, Spain, October 26-27.
