Q&A with Prestige Performance Driver, Sheena Monk

How did you become involved in racing?
My dad was a flat track motorcycle racer so going fast is in my blood. I got an off-road go-kart for Christmas when I was 5 and my first dirt bike when I was 7. I have always wanted to take what I was so passionate about, anything with an engine, to the racing level and Lamborghini Corso Pilota gave me that path.
My family is extremely loyal to Lamborghini, having owned a mix of Countach, Diablo, Gallardo, and now Huracan models during each respective car’s time in production. My dad even has the bull tattooed on his arm. Lamborghini is more than a brand to me, it has been an obsession since I was very young so the desire to participate in Super Trofeo was obvious.

What is your favorite racing memory?
I don’t have many yet but for now, it was seeing my first checkered flag in Imola, Italy.

What division do you compete in for Lamborghini Super Trofeo? (Pro/Pro-Am/LB Cup)
LB Cup

Tell us more about the car you’re driving. What type of Lamborghini is it? What makes it so well equipped for the track?
The Huracan Super Trofeo EVO is an absolute monster that demands absolutely everything you have. I often joke about the irony of the Lamborghini raging bull logo because it gives me the adrenaline of what I think riding a bull would be like. The Super Trofeo is incredibly powerful but hardly anything like its street car counterpart. Most specifically, the braking and the corning are something you can’t explain, it’s just something a person would have to experience.

Out of all the tracks: Mid Ohio, Watkins Glen, Road America, VIR, or Laguna Seca, do you have a favorite? Why?
I’m most looking forward to Leguna Seca but Watkins Glen is growing on me. At first, I found the walls intimidating but I’m learning to ignore them and just focus on the course.

What are your goals for the 2018 Super Trofeo season?
My goal by the end of the season is to be running at the same pace as the top cars in the AM category. It will be a battle the entire season but my goal is to be World Champion in the LB Cup category.
